Settings: Tools
Any applied changes to these settings will, after a few seconds, automatically be picked up by the image window.
- Measure tool
Set the display- and creation characteristics of the distance measurement tool.
See Measure tool/distance measurement for explanation on how to use the tool.
- Display new measurement...
- ..on all images of a run. Press CTRL-key at start of a measurement to display it on the displayed image only
In case of a run (multiple images), the measurement is displayed on every image of the run. Unless you pressed CTRL at the start of a measurement, then it's for the currently displayed image only.
- ..on the displayed image only
In case of a run, the measurement is displayed on the currently displayed image only.
- Display measurements during playback
By default, a measurement is not displayed during playback of a run. Check this to display during playback.
- Additionally, display measurement in pixels
Display the measurement in image-pixels, also when the distance is shown in millimetres.
- Automatically open calibration window when pixel size cannot be determined
After a measurement, start the calibration automatically to determine the size of a pixel in millimetres.
- Measurement color
Select the start color of a measurement.
- Change color of next measurement
For each additional measurement, the next color is used to display.
- Area tool
Set the display- and creation characteristics of the area measurement tool.

- Display new area...
- ..on all images of a run. Press CTRL-key at start of a measurement to display area on the displayed image only

- Display areas during playback
By default, an area is not displayed during playback of a run. Check this to display during playback.
- Additionally, display area in square pixels
Display the area measurement in square image-pixels, also when the distance is shown in square millimetres.
- Automatically open calibration window when pixel size cannot be determined
After an area measurement, start the calibration automatically to determine the size of a pixel in millimetres.
- Area thickness
Select the thickness of the area-line. The selected thickness is displayed when finished drawing an area.
You can dynamically change the thickness of the area-line by highlighting/selecting an area and pressing CTRL+4 or CTRL+5 to decrease or increase the thickness. Minimum line thickness is 1 pixel, maximum 3 pixels
- Area color
Select the start color of the area display line.
- Change color of next area
For each additional area, the next color is used to display.
- Show maximum and minimum diameters
Display the maximum and minimum diameter of an area. The diameter lines must cross the weighted average of the area.
- Diameter thickness, same as area line (default: 1 pixel)
Check to draw the diameters with the same line thickness as set for the area. Leave unchecked to draw with a thickness of 1 pixel.
- Angle tool
Set the display- and creation characteristics of the different angle measurement tools.
See the 3-point angle tool or line-angle tool for explanation on how to use the tools.
- Display new angle...
- ..on all images of a run. Press CTRL-key at start of a measurement to display area on the displayed image only
